Teen shoots another teen inside Forsyth County home

There is no danger to the area residents.

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. -- The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office are investigating after a teen allegedly shot another teen on Thanksgiving Day.

According to the sheriff's office, the shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. after a domestic dispute unfolded inside a home in the 1200 block of Wondering Way in the Riverbrooke subdivision.

When deputies arrived, they found one teen who had been shot. Witnesses told them the alleged shooter had run out of the house, and deputies immediately set up a perimeter.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff's spokesperson Doug Rainwater, deputies found the suspect, but not the weapon, about five to seven minutes later on Grey Rock Way and took him into custody. The injured teen was transported to the hospital.

Investigators believe the two teens knew each other, but were not at the home for any type of Thanksgiving celebration. There is no known motive at this time, but Rainwater said some type of dispute did happen leading up to the shooting.

Sheriff's deputies continue to investigate the incident, which they said does not pose a danger to residents in the area.
