The Atlanta Braves have tapped Los Angeles Dodgers executive Alex Anthopoulos as the club’s next general manager, USA TODAY Sports confirmed late Sunday night.

Anthopoulos, the former Toronto Blue Jays GM, will be in charge of baseball decisions, according to person with knowledge of the hiring who is not authorized to speak publicly because the move hasn't been announced. The Braves are expected to announce Anthopoulos as the team's new GM early this week.
