Two Ninja Turtles enjoyed the best seats at Yankee Stadium

The New York Yankees have a new ticketing policy that prevents the resale of their game tickets to the secondary ticket market. The Yankees have made it so you have to have the original ticket in hand to get into any game. Printing your ticket at home won't work anymore.

Cricket fans turn up as the Ninja Turtles for the dress up for the day during game five of the Commonwealth Bank International Series between Australia and the West Indies at Melbourne Cricket Ground on February 10, 2013 in Melbourne, Australia.

The New York Yankees have a new ticketing policy that prevents the resale of their game tickets to the secondary ticket market. The Yankees have made it so you have to have the original ticket in hand to get into any game. Printing your ticket at home won't work anymore.

At least one person angered by this ticket policy is HBO's Last Week Tonight host John Oliver, who opened his April 3 show pointing out the things that Yankees COO Lonn Trost said about people who would buy those tickets on the secondary market for less than face value:

"The fan may be someone who has never sat in a premium location. So that’s a frustration to our existing fan base."

One could interpret this to mean that the Yankees don't want people that aren't rich enough to buy those tickets for an entire season to ever sit in those seats because it might upset the rich people they'd have to sit next to.

So what Oliver did was buy two premium tickets right behind home plate for the first three games of the regular season against the Houston Astros and offered them to whoever could afford the 25 cents per ticket plus whoever could promise to look the most ridiculous behind home plate.

For Tuesday's game, it was two guys dressed as Ninja Turtles.

"There are two guys behind home plate dressed as Ninja Turtles that have to be the John Oliver contest winners," said Davril Lavignezo, @davelozo on Twitter.

ESPN eventually adjusted their camera angle so that the first two rows of seats so that the turtles could not be seen.

We get two more games of this.
