The eighteenth commitment of Georgia's 2018 recruiting class came to light on Thursday evening, as Mallard Creek (Charlotte, N.C.) defensive tackle Jordan Davis took to Twitter with his pledge to the Bulldogs.

At 6-foot-6, 320-pounds, Davis plays on both the offensive and defensive lines at Mallard Creek, but the Rivals250 four-star prospect will likely begin his career in Athens under defensive line coach Tray Scott.

"Coach Scott gave me my first offer when I started playing football my sophomore year," Davis told NCPreps.com's Deana King on Thursday.

The relationship, which began when Scott was coaching for the North Carolina Tarheels, played a major role in the decision.

Davis thanked Scott 'for everything' including the initial offer which began his recruitment in his announcement.

With Davis aboard, the Bulldogs now have thirteen prospects rated four-star or better in their Class of 2018.

As for what the massive defensive tackle brings to Athens, Rivals.com's Adam Friedman is quite optimistic.

"He’s such a physically gifted prospect," Friedman said. "He’s also a smarter player and is very coachable."
