We now must have star tight-end Rob Gronkowski tell us when not to do idiotic things like eat Tide laundry detergent pods?
Apparently so. But first, let me catch you up.
There's some new internet challenge going around, the Tide Pod Challenge. What started as a joke, according to USA Today, has turned into a trend with young adults and teens eating toxic pods that contain detergent. Just having the contents of the pod in one's mouth can cause diarrhea and vomiting.
It appears YouTube has begun taking down videos of the challenge, and Tide has done its part to try and get people to stop eating its product.
Gronkowski is in the video posted on social media and asks, "What the heck is going on, people? Use Tide Pods for washing. Not eating. Do not eat.”
The video already has over 75,000 views on Twitter after just four hours. Gronkowski is a reoccurring spokesperson for Tide.
If crazy people on the Internet got this sensation to start, hopefully Gronk can help end it.
