Forsyth County officials identify victim of deadly Browns Bridge Road crash

The victim was a passenger in one of the vehicles, authorities said

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. -- Forsyth County authorities have identified a woman who died in a Saturday afternoon accident that snarled traffic on an area road.

The accident happened around 3 p.m. on Browns Bridge Road. According to Forsyth County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Doug Rainwater, the collision happened near Floyd Lane when the driver of a 2002 Infiniti lost control and crossed the center line hitting a 2006 Chevrolet K3500 truck that was heading west.

The accident killed the passenger of the Infiniti 26-year-old Wachovia Thompson, of Monroe County, Georgia, and sent driver 34-year-old Ryan Travanti Stephens of Gainesville, Georgia to the hospital.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 43-year-old Paul Stewart of Cumming, Georgia, and two juvenile passengers were also sent to the hospital with injuries that aren't expected to be life-threatening.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is investigating the exact cause of the crash.
