ATLANTA -- Believe it or not, there are less than 100 days until Christmas. While most of the public still has plenty of time left for their holiday shopping, big shipping companies, including UPS are gearing up for the busy business season.
This past week, the Atlanta-based shipping giant announced that it expects to hire about 95,000 seasonal employees to process the increase in packages that begins in November and will last until about January 2017.
“We’re ready to kick off our annual holiday hiring process, and need lots of great people for various positions on all shifts across the country,” said Myron Gray, President, U.S. Operations.
UPS will be looking for both full- and part-time employees, who will primarily handle packages and deliver shipments through the season. The company said seasonal employment could lead to permanent positions after the holidays are over. Permanent UPS jobs – including part-time jobs – come with pay and benefits, including healthcare and retirement benefits.
