Blue Bell recalls ice cream on Listeria fears

ATLANTA -- Blue Bell Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling select products from their Sylacauga, Alabama plant because cookie dough made from another supplier may potentially contain Listeria monocytogenes.

According to a press release Wednesday, the recall covers half-gallons and pint sizes of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Cookie Two-Step flavors. The ice cream was shipped out to ten different states, including Georgia.

No illnesses have been reported to date, and after noticing a potential problem and testing, the company informed its cookie dough supplier, Aspen Hills.

Blue Bell says customers with recalled ice cream are eligible for a full refund.
