Today popular Atlanta radio DJ Rashan Ali announced that she is leaving V103. Ali told 11Alive, "I got to the point where I felt like I did everything I could do on urban radio here in the city." After just one year at the station, Ali says she decided to focus on a different future, "...My passion was not there (in radio) anymore. I want to go full force at trying to do television and do some theater work."
Ali has d been a guest host many times on 11Alive's "Atlanta & Company" and in fact will guest host again this April. Over the past several years, Ali has worked as a sideline reporter for the Atlanta Hawks, a social media reporter for coverage of the NBA Playoffs and as a correspondent for several major sporting events including the Chick-Fil-A Bowl Preshow. She also has appeared in several films, including "3 Can Play That Game", "The Gospel" and "Trois 3". Ali says she is proud of the work she has done in radio, and thankful for this latest opportunity, "It has been an honor and a privilege to work with CBS radio for the year that I have been there." She continued, "I made the decision for myself a month ago, but the station knew that and didn't want to hold me back. It was very mutual and amicable parting. That is what you look for in this business." "I am leaving with my head held high".
A resident of Atlanta, Ali is married and has two daughters.
