Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Lynx have signed top overall
draft pick Maya Moore.
Terms of the contract for the No. 1 choice in this week's WNBA Draft were
Moore, a forward from the University of Connecticut, was the 2009 and 2011
women's Naismith Award winner and a two-time national champion. She is also
one of just seven Division I players to score at least 3,000 points.
A native of Jefferson City, Missouri, Moore was Big East Player of the Year in
three of her four seasons at UConn. She helped the Huskies win national
championships in 2009 and 2010, but the team came up short of a three-peat
earlier this month with a loss to Notre Dame in the national semifinals.
