LITHONIA, Ga. -- A settlement has been reached in the pending civil suit against New Birth Missionary Baptist Church Bishop Eddie Long and the Longfellows Youth Academy, according to attorneys on both sides of the case.

"On behalf of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and The Longfellows Youth Academy, I have officially announced that the matters have been resolved and we anticipate the Plaintiffs' lawsuits will be dismissed, with prejudice, by close of business tomorrow," New Birth attorney Barbara Marschalk said in a statement to 11Alive News on Thursday. "No other lawyer or party (or representative thereof) will make any further comment."

Long had been accused of sexual misconduct by four young men whom he mentored. He denied the allegations.

B.J. Bernstein represents accusers Jamal Parris, Maurice Robinson and Anthony Flagg, Spencer LeGrande.

Her only comment Thursday was, "The matter has been resolved."

A statement from her office added: "Neither attorney Bernstein nor the plaintiffs themselves will be available for interview on this matter, now or in the future. There is no spokesperson for the plaintiffs' team other than attorney Bernstein, and she will have no further comment on the case."

"No further details will be made public," Marschalk said.

New Birth Missionary Baptist Church spokesman Art Franklin also issued a statement on the matter.  "After a series of discussions, all parties involved have decided to resolve the civil cases out of court," he said. "This decision was made to bring closure to this matter and to allow us to move forward with the plans God has for this ministry."

"As is usually the case when civil lawsuits resolve out of court, we cannot discuss any details regarding the resolution or the resolution process, as they are confidential," Franklin said. "This resolution is the most reasonable road for everyone to travel."
