Four Dunwoody girls celebrate their 10th birthdays by preparing meals for Stop Hunger Now.
DUNWOODY, Ga. -- Instead of throwing a typical party, four Dunwoody girls celebrated their 10th birthdays by preparing meals for the hungry.
Carley Chastain, Laura Duncan, Lindsay Harris and Lauren Killeen invited friends to meet at the Scout Hut at Dunwoody United Methodist Church to form an assembly line to put together meal packages for Stop Hunger Now, a nonprofit that feeds children in need overseas.
They raised $1,000 and made 10,000 meals over the course of two hours.
"It felt great," said Carley Chastain. "I knew it was going to go someplace to help people in need and help them survive."
We've added a total of 52 links to our Chain of Kindness for the birthday girls and their friends.
