GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- Authorities said a truck pulling a camper struck and killed a young black bear in northwest Hall County over the weekend. It was the second such incident in 10 days on Georgia roads.

Georgia State Patrol said the bear died before troopers arrived Sunday afternoon. No one else was hurt.

On June 9, a driver hit a bear on Georgia 219 in Harris County, north of Columbus. Authorities said that bear was so badly hurt that it had to be put down.
