LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- On the same day police confirmed a body found over the weekend was that of a missing Lawrenceville woman, they named her husband as a suspect.

July 11, 2011 -- Matt Leili, the woman's husband, reported her missing to police. Leili told police his wife was missing since July 9, 2011, but didn't report her missing until two days later.

July 15, 2011 -- The Gwinnett County detective went to the Leili's home to interview Matt Leili and the couple's two daughters, ages 12 and 9. Leili told the detective he had hired an attorney and neither he nor his two children would answer questions.

July 18, 2011 -- Dental records confirm the body is that of the missing woman. At the same time police make that announcement, they name Matt Leili a suspect in his wife's death.
An autopsy was done on Nique Leili's body and a cause of death is yet to be determined. Gwinnett County Police Corporal Jake Smith said there were no stab wounds or gunshot wounds on Leili's body and further tests would have to be conducted by the medical examiner to determine conclusively how she died.
Corporal Smith said it was the totality of the circumstances surrounding the case that led police to believe Nique Leili was the victim of a homicide.
Sumner Riddick is Matt Leili's divorce attorney. A person who answered the phone at his law office on Monday said Riddick had nothing to say to the press.
Police records confirm the relationship between the couple was strained. On June 28, 2011, two weeks before Nique Leili went missing, she called police about a domestic situation.
According to police the "female caller advised that her husband won't let her leave the house." The report said the woman's husband picked up the phone and told police "his wife is just throwing a tantrum."
An officer who went to the home and spoke to both parties determined there was no physical contact. Both parties were advised of family violence laws and neither wanted to leave the house.
