MARIETTA, Ga. -- A Marietta woman is now accused of murdering her bed-ridden mother.
Melissa Blue, 49, was intially charged with felony cruelty to elderly after police responded to a call for help on the 2300 block of Delk Road early last Thursday.
They found 80-year-old Evelyn Blue "in need of immediate medical attention" with "injuries that are consistent with neglect," according to Marietta Police spokeswoman Jennifer Murphy.
Despite treatment at Kennestone Hospital, Marietta Police said Evelyn Blue did not survive those injuries.
Her daughter has now also been charged with felony murder. Melissa Blue is being held without bond at Cobb County jail.
