Teachers receive sweatbands for workouts

Col. Douglas Pearson spreads kindness all the time by helping others live healthy lives.

TYRONE, Ga. -- Col. Douglas Pearson isn't satisfied with simply staying healthy as a teacher at Sandy Creek High School. He's become a guru for wellness for the entire Fayette County School District.

They're getting help from a book he wrote, "The 10-20-30 Life Wellness Plan."

Among his recommendations is for everyone to exercise 30 minutes a day.

To help with motivate them, Pearson created a program for teachers and staff at the school called," Sandy Creek On The Move."

11Alive's Education Reporter, Donna Lowry gave each member of the club a Wizometer sweatband to help them with their workouts.
