ATLANTA (WXIA) - Images of what apparently are new alternate jerseys for the Atlanta Braves have leaked online in the past few days.
The new jerseys appear to be a lot like the throwback jerseys that have appeared for several other teams over the past several years, and feature an off-white color with navy striping down either side of the button placket. Other notable features include a Braves script logo without the tomahawk below it, and a team number on the left front breast of the jersey.
Another feature is what appears to be a patch on the left sleeve with two tomahawks crossed over a circle. According to Chris Creamer's report on SportsLogos.net, the patch appears to have the title "Atlanta Braves 1876" inscribed on it.
The jersey was leaked by an e-commerce site, OnTheField.com, which specializes in selling jerseys from college and professional sports teams. Their post that featured the new jersey has since been removed.
BleacherReport.com, comparing the new jerseys to last season's red alternate jerseys, said these definitely look "better than the red alternatives they sported on Sundays last year."
There's no official word from the Braves confirming or denying whether the new jerseys are ones they plan to use in the upcoming baseball season.
