EDMONSTON, Md. (WUSA) -- A Hyattsville man is accused of trying to rob two off-duty D.C. police officers who were buying fuel at a gas station in Edmonston, Md.

According to Edmonston Police Department Chief Stephen Walker, 51-year-old Sandy Stancil approached the two officers at a Sunoco station in the 4800 block of Kenilworth Avenue, brandishing a knife and a can of tear gas.
