ATLANTA (Update) -- Thirty-one year-old Lenny Jones was captured by the US Marshal's Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force Sunday night in Stockbridge.
Federal marshals said he was picked up at about 9 p.m., based on a tip from this week's Fugitive of the Week. Jones was wanted for aggravated assault, robbery and theft after he allegedly attacked a man he befriended in a midtown hotel.
Jones allegedly approached the victim in a midtown bar and the two went to the W. Peachtree Street hotel. That's where the victim said Jones drugged him and stole his jewelry and wallet.
After learning of the arrest, the man Jones is accused of assaulting spoke out. "It's a relief," said the man who didn't want to be identified. "It's a great relief."
He said he wanted to warn other potential victims. "I feel like if this could happen to me it tells me that there's plenty of evil around us and it could happen to anyone," he said.
Deputy US Marshal Eric Heinze said Jones was arrested after two days of surveillance in a Stockbridge neighborhood where the tipster said he was. "While doing surveillance we actually observed Mr. Jones enter a vehicle with his mother," he said. The vehicle was stopped and Jones was taken into custody.
Law enforcement officials are concerned that Jones may have other victims. "That's true especially with the nature of the assault," Heinze said. "It does often go unreported."
"What he did to me could have very easily have taken my life," the victim said. "I would like other people to come forward as well because he needs to be put away for a very long time."

ATLANTA (WXIA) -- Lenny Jones is 11Alive's Fugitive of the Week for January 25, 2012.
The 31-year-old Atlanta man is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. He has outstanding warrants for aggravated assault, robbery and theft by taking. The charges stem from a bizarre attack on another man inside a Midtown hotel room.
It happened on the night of August 31, 2011 and began at a Midtown Atlanta bar called Burkhart Pub. That's where the Marshals say Jones was on the prowl, marking a target. He used the name "Rick" to approach his victim at the bar.
After having a drink at the bar, Jones and the victim left the pub together. They went to the Artmore Hotel on West Peachtree Street and paid for a room. The Marshals said Jones offered the victim a drink.
"[The victim] believes that he was drugged, because immediately after consuming the beverage that the suspect provided, he became dizzy and disoriented," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Eric Heinze.
Heinze said the victim remembers seeing Jones standing above him, removing his jewelry, wallet and car keys before he passed out. Heinze said Jones used a lit cigarette to burn the victim in the genitals several times. The victim also reported that Jones used his car keys to steal items from his car.
