CUMMING, Ga. -- A 49-year-old woman was hit by a car and killed while trying to cross Ga. 400 in Cumming Thursday evening.
Juanita Cole was struck by a Ford F-150 at about 7 p.m., according to Forsyth County Sheriff's spokesman Cpl. David Garrison. He said she appeared to be walking to the Chevron at the corner of Ga. 400 and Settingdown Circle.
The driver of the truck, 50-year-old Kim Mills of Dawsonville, was not injured, nor was his unidentified passenger.
Garrison said the area where Cole was struck was not lighted, and that the victim was wearing dark clothing.
Police are continuing their investigation of this case.
