ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- A 67-year-old Chicago man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for trying to have sex with a metro Atlanta preteen.
There was never actually a girl involved, but an undercover FBI agent posing as an 11-year-old's mother to arrange the encounter.
According to the U.S. Justice Department, Michael Isacson exchanged several sexually explicit messages with the agent between December 2011 and January 2012. Court records showed Isacson said he wanted to be the girl's "naughty grandpa" and "naughty daddy" and that he wanted her to "obey" his commands. Federal prosecutors said Isacson also exposed himself via web camera.
Isacson was arrested in Alpharetta in January, when he showed up for his would-be sexual encounter with the preteen.
"Men like this defendant, who are willing to travel hundreds of miles for the opportunity to have sex with a child, present a serious danger to communities throughout our country," U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said in a statement.
Isacson pleaded guilty in March and was sentenced on Thursday.
The 67-year-old will not be eligible for parole and will have to register as a sex offender upon release from prison. He will also have to serve 10 years of supervised release.
