ATLANTA -- A murder suspect barricaded himself in a northwest Atlanta home early Friday morning, sparking an hours long standoff with police.

Police said Rasshun Johnson surrendered at around 11 a.m. at a relative's home on Margaret Place. He had an outstanding murder warrant.

Investigators said someone called police after Johnson showed up at the house at around 5 a.m. and refused to come out.

The SWAT team was called in.

Police said Johnson threatened suicide, but there was never a threat to anyone else in the home.

No one was hurt.

According to records from the Fulton County Jail, Johnson has a criminal history and spent nearly three month in prison in 2011 for several charges, including aggravated assault, battery, burglary, property damage and firearm possession.
