Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Carlos Zambrano threw his first shutout since
the 2009 season and the Miami Marlins blanked the Houston Astros, 4-0, in the
opener of a three-game series at Minute Maid Park.
Zambrano (1-2) allowed just three hits and one walk while fanning nine en
route to his first win in a Marlins uniform.
Giancarlo Stanton crushed a two-run homer, while Hanley Ramirez and John Buck
added solo shots for the Marlins, who have won seven consecutive games.
Jose Altuve, Brian Bogusevic and Travis Buck each had a hit for Houston, which
has dropped two straight following a five-game winning streak.
Wandy Rodriguez (3-3) gave up four runs on six hits and two walks while
fanning two in eight-plus innings to suffer the loss.
