(WXIA) -- A new British study claims that the modern woman's lack of housework is to blame for their larger waistlines.
The study says that the abundance of housework in the 1950's, compared to now, kept women more trim --- about six inches smaller than today.
According to the study, housewives in the 1950's burned about 1000 calories per day doing chores; however, when modern appliances were created woman became for sedentary.
During the 11@7, 11Alive's own Brenda Wood had her own thoughts about this study.
