ATLANTA -- Weeks after President Barack Obama announced his support of same sex marriage rights, a member of the King family is saying that's not what Dr. Martin Luther King marched for.
Dr. King's niece Dr. Alveda King told 11Alive News her uncle and her family have always loved and supported the gay community and worked alongside them during the civil rights movement.
However she said the Bible clearly defines marriage as between a man and a woman. As ministers, she said her uncle, her father Rev. A.D. King and grandfather Dr. Martin Luther King, Sr. would have agreed with the Bible.
