ATLANTA -- A major water main break in Stone Mountain continues to affect residents Thursday morning.
A safety zone has been set up around the site of Wednesday's break on Rockbridge Road. DeKalb County spokesman Burke Brennan said the break to an eight-inch line has been capped, but the area around it is still muddy.
Much of the spewing water came from a fire hydrant that broke off of the line. Authorities don't know what caused the line to break.
One neighbor told an 11Alive reporter his basement is flooded and that he already can see water damage in his house. The water has also damaged a couple of yards and cars in the driveways.
