The Wylde Center, formerly the Oakhurst  Community Garden, is having its annual Plant Sale Fundraiser through June 15th.  Tomatoes, vegetables and herbs are available for $1.00 and up.

The center relies on the public's honesty rather than having a cashier on staff.    "We have a price list and at the front door of our center is a drop box. People take their money and place it in there," said spokesman Daniel Ballard.  "We put a little spell on the plants so they're not going to grow unless people do what they need to do and be honest," he laughed.

The Wylde Center is at 435 Oakview road in Decatur.  It was recently renamed in honor of founder Sally Wylde, who died of breast cancer in 2010.

Money raised from the sale benefits the center's various programs, which include environmental and education-based youth outreach programs, community-wide education, events throughout the year and nutritional programs in Dekalb County Schools.
