ATLANTA -- The Obama Administration's Making Home Affordable program, the HOPE NOW Alliance and NeighborWorks America have ended a two-day event to help troubled homeowners at the Georgia International Convention Center.
As part of the event, major mortgage lenders and housing counselors offered free counseling sessions. If you look at recent data showing the amount of foreclosures in the Metro, that is a much needed service.
According to Zillow.com, more than half of homeowners in our area owe more than the worth of their home. Another real estate tracking website, realtytrac.com, reports there are 10,269 foreclosure properties in Georgia, the fourth highest rank in the United States.
