ATLANTA, Ga. -- Twitter has become one of the biggest ways for politicians to stay connected to citizens; however, what happens when they tweet something they probably wish they didn't?
It seems pretty simple -- if you don't like what you tweet, just delete it! WRONG.
All of the tweet flubs that politicians thought they deleted end up on a new website called, Politwoops. Politwoops was started by the Sunlight Foundation, which works towards creating greater transparency in politics.
The site follows the feeds of several politicians and public figures, and automatically archives any tweets they delete. It even shows how long before the post was removed.
The site boasts more than 3,000 "afterthoughts" deleted by everyone from President Obama to Newt Gingrich.
