Want to participate in this year's AJC Peachtree Road Race, but don't have a race number?
There's still time to take part in the annual 10k, while helping a local charity in the process. But, you have to act fast.
For the first time, the Atlanta Track Club has two charity partners for the AJC Peachtree Road Race. People who still want to participate in the race can purchase a special race number from one of the two charities to get into the event. The money from the entry will go back to the local charities.
Operation Homefront Georgia provides emergency assistance to military families and wounded veterans in Georgia. The organization is based in East Cobb and serves approximately a thousand families each month. Money raised from the race entries will fund emergency financial grants to provide food and housing for military families in Georgia.

Officials with the Atlanta Track Club say its Kilometer Kids program is an incentive-based youth running program that empowers children with the knowledge they need to make smart lifestyle choices. Kilometer Kids impacts more than 2,800 kids from 53 schools in at-risk communites through the Atlanta area. Money raised from the race will allow the organization to broaden its impact in the Atlanta community.
