The Georgia D.O.T. is set to begin Phase II of its plan to help ease congestion for commuters who live in the Northern suburbs. Phase I involved the addition of a Southbound shoulder flex lane open to traffic during morning rush hour Monday-Friday from Holcomb Bridge Road to the North Springs MARTA Station. Phase II includes the conversion of 5 existing exit only lanes from McFarland Parkway down to Holcomb Bridge Road, in to general purpose lanes. G-DOT says this will all several miles of free-flowing travel lanes without the cost of having to add additional asphalt. Commuter Dude talks about work schedules and potential lane closures, live from GA-400.
