Allen Park, MI (Sports Network) - Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure,
twice busted for marijuana possession this offseason, has been suspended two
games by the NFL for violating the league's substance-abuse program.
Leshoure, 22, will forfeit four game checks as part of the punishment.
Lions president Tom Lewand said the team supports the decision, saying it
expects every member of the organization "to uphold a greater standard of
behavior."
Leshoure's punishment and Lewand's statement were both posted on a blog on the
Lions' website.
The 2011 second-round draft pick missed all of last season after tearing his
Achilles in practice.
