Now I'm in trouble. Demarco has a personal trainer helping him prepare for the AJC Peachtree Road Race? I didn't take that approach and will likely regret it when he's teasing me on July 4.
My running routine just hasn't been as intense. Sometimes I jog by myself; sometimes I jog with a friend. But I must admit, we need to be more productive. We seem to spend more time talking during long walks than actually jogging.
That must change! Friday morning, I'm scheduled to jog with my friend Laura. We haven't seen each other in a month, and therefore, have lots of catching up to do. But the chatting must be during the jog itself. No more taking it easy! I do envy athletes who get in that 'zone' and consider running a solitary experience. I've never been that person and that's why I know I'm better off with a buddy, even if we're gabbing more than we should be!
Why? It's more fun. It's safe. And there's accountability. No excuses. I'll be at that park at 8:30am Friday.
