CHEYENNE, Wyo. -- Air National Guard planes designed to fight wildfires sit on the tarmac as blazes rage on in Wyoming, Colorado, California and North Carolina.
The Forest Service can only use the aircraft when private tanker planes are already fighting fires or are unavailable.
Meanwhile, President Barack Obama has signed a bill to add seven large tanker planes to the nation's aerial firefighting fleet.
