LAKE LANIER -- Authorities say an 11-year-old boy was injured Saturday when he fell off his tube and was struck by a boat's propeller.
Georgia Department of Natural Resources spokesman Capt. Mark Padgett said a boat, coming to assist, floated over the boy and the propeller cut his leg. The operator of the boat thought the craft was in neutral but it was not.
The child was airlifted to Eggleston Childrens Hospital where his injury is considered serious but non-life threatening.
Capt. Padgett said alcohol was not involved and the driver was not charged.
