ATLANTA -- Where's the best spot in Atlanta to grab a cocktail and enjoy the ambiance? Travel + Leisure says it's Six Feet Under.
"This is one of my most favorite places to come," said Atlanta resident Bahja Ibrahim, while dining at the Westside location.
And she's not alone. Six Feet Under is the sole Atlanta bar on the travel magazine's list highlighting 30 top outdoor bars around the country.
"The atmosphere, the food is amazing, friends from out of town, you gotta bring them here," Ibrahim explained.
The publication says, "Folks come for the atmosphere, mostly because a martini just tastes better under twinkle lights and in view of the Atlanta skyline." Travel + Leisure also says, "When in the South, why not go for something decidedly local" and recommends their Bobby Jones beverage, which is sweet tea vodka and homemade lemonade.
Six Feet Under Manager Lauren Costello has been working at the 11th street location since it opened. She says she still appreciates the ambiance, especially at the end of her shift.
"At the very end of the night, when you lock up and check everything, I get to come up here and it's completely quiet and the view is even more beautiful," Costello said.
Beyond the adult beverages, the bar's six pepper shrimp and grits entree was featured on the Food Network earlier this year. David Janssen, who says he dines at Six Feet Under at least twice a month, ordered it Wednesday.
"It's spicy; it's good," Janssen said.
There are two locations: Grant Park and Westside. Travel + Leisure says, "Of the two locations, we've got a soft spot for the Westside."
Regular Lauren Estadt agrees.
"The Grant Park location, you can also see the cemetery, which is really cool, but I like the Westside a lot," she said.
Estadt also has a soft spot for the guy she met at Six Feet Under.
"Yeah, this is my boyfriend Matt," she said. "He actually used to work here. And we met when he was working and I was coming in."
Atlanta ranks #21 on the Travel + Leisure 2012 list of the best outdoor bars in America.
