Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - Matt Harrison worked five scoreless innings
on Sunday and the Texas Rangers held on to knock off the Colorado Rockies,
4-2, in the finale of a three-game interleague series at Rangers Ballpark.
Harrison (10-3) struck out three and walked two while allowing just five hits
to earn the win. Robbie Ross, Tanner Scheppers and Mike Adams each threw a
scoreless inning of relief before Joe Nathan allowed two runs in the ninth,
but finished off the victory for the Rangers, who have won eight of their last
nine games.
Leonys Martin went 2-for-4 with a two-run triple and an RBI double, and Elvis
Andrus added an RBI double in the win.
Marco Scutaro ripped an RBI single and Carlos Gonzalez chipped in with an RBI
on a sacrifice fly for the Rockies, losers in six of their previous eight
contests.
Alex White (2-6) yielded four runs on six hits with three strikeouts and four
walks in just 2 2/3 innings to absorb the loss.
