Jessica Colotl heads to Cobb County court
MARIETTA, Ga. -- A former Kennesaw State University student at the center of Georgia's immigration debate has been released from the Cobb County Jail.

Jessica Colotl was jailed and then released Monday for a sentence stemming from a March 2010 traffic stop on KSU's campus. Police discovered that she was driving without a license. They later learned she was in the country illegally; her parents brought her to the U.S. from Mexico when she was 11.
Colotl was granted a one-year deportation deferment so she could graduate from KSU. The deferment was extended for another year in May.
