An Oreo post showing a rainbow-colored "Pride" cookie posted to their Facebook page
(WXIA) - In one of what promises to be a series of photos honoring the 100th anniversary of the Oreo cookie, Kraft's Nabisco division posted a photo to the Oreo Facebook page and on the Oreo Twitter feed Monday night of an Oreo cookie with multiple layers of rainbow-colored filling and the caption "June 25 | Pride."
As of midday Tuesday, the photo had been liked more than 150,000 times, shared more than 37,000 times and had received more than 19,000 posts.
The photo also drew its detractors, with many saying they would not buy or eat Oreos ever again, and others who said they would boycott products from Nabisco and Kraft.
Fans of the rainbow-colored cookie photo have also launched a petition campaign aimed at getting Nabisco to manufacture the pictured cookie for real.
