A house fire seen by 11Alive Skycam.
ATLANTA -- Putting renters insurance at the top of the priority list is a must for families.
The issue took center stage Saturday afternoon in the Flippen Woods Subdivision near Stockbridge.
A quickly moving fire jumped from townhouse roof to roof, damaging 14 units and gutting 7 of them.

More than two dozen people were displaced.
For at least 3 tenant families, the loss was doubly devastating.
Gone are their personal possessions with no renters insurance to cover the loss.
Michael Bethea is one of them.
"We had a chance to get it a few months ago and not thinking you need it you get insurance sometimes and never use it," he said. "Then again you don't get it and that's when you need it. I just encourage anybody that doesn't don't have insurance to get insurance because right now I don't know what I am going to do with my family."
"Everything is totally lost," he added. "My living room, dining room, bedroom sets, everything."
Bottom line -- renters insurance is a must.
The cost is as low as $150 a year.
You can get cash value, giving you back what your possessions are worth now, or you can get replacement value, which represents the actual cost to start over.
Make an inventory of everything you have that may have to be replaced.
And remember, policies can cover not only lost property, but liability insurance and a temporary place to live.
