DECATUR, Ga. -- Authorities have arrested a man they say killed a 19-year-old in DeKalb County.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office says 28-year-old Marcus D. Ventress was taken into custody Monday in Columbus. He is charged in the May 27 shooting death of Ryan Guider. Authorities say Ventress shot Guider in retaliation for a home burglary.
Police say Ventress is also accused of shooting into an apartment, thinking Guider lived there.
Ventress was being held without bond in the DeKalb County jail on murder and aggravated assault charges.
As mourners left Guider's funeral last month, gunfire broke out and police say two men fatally shot each other. Police initially sought Ventress in that shooting but later determined he wasn't involved.
