FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- Two men have been arrested for trying to rob an Atlanta Bread Company in Fayetteville, police announced Tuesday.

Thirty-year-old Quentin Weems and 24-year-old Jamel McAllister have been charged in connection with the June 30 robbery, according to Fayetteville Police spokesman Det. Mike Whitlow.

Witnesses told police that Weems and McAllister held up the Atlanta Bread Company in the Fayette Pavilion Shopping Center, but left before they could take any money. Whitlow said investigators quickly pulled over the suspects' car on Highway 314 near Highway 138 and took both men into custody.

Both suspects face several charges, including burglary, armed robbery and firearm possession. They are being held in the Fayette County Jail.

Whitlow said police are now investigating the possibility that Weems and McAllister are responsible for other similar crimes in the area.
