SNELLVILLE, Ga. -- Aimee Copeland's father revealed his daughter fed herself and brushed her teeth for the first time since being hospitalized with a flesh-eating bacteria in May.

"How's that for only 4 full days of rehab?" Andy Copeland wrote on his Facebook page early Saturday. "Yeah, I'm beaming from ear-to-ear right now."

"Just being able to tackle this and tackle it head-on and basically make the most of it at a very early stage in the rehab process is absolutely phenomenal," Andy Copeland told NBC's "Today" Monday morning.

Copeland was just released from Doctors Hospital in Augusta on Monday. She's expected to spend the rest of the summer at a residential rehabilitation facility. Her family is not disclosing the location of the center to give Aimee privacy.

It will be weeks before Aimee Copeland can return to her family's home in Snellville, but construction crews are already getting it ready for her.

They began retrofitting the home on Tuesday. They want to make it fully accessible for the 24-year-old University of West Georgia graduate student who lost her leg, remaining foot and both hands to necrotizing fasciitis after a homemade zip-line accident.

Andy Copeland also posted a new blog early Saturday.

"Monday, July 2, marked the 59th day of Aimee's recovery," he wrote. "It also marked 59 days of intense and focused prayer; 59 days of topsy-turvy prognoses; 59 days of extreme trial and tribulation, and most of all, 59 consecutive days of God's blessings."
