ATLANTA -- Just when it looked like gas prices were nearing the $3 mark, they've jumped back up.

GasBuddy.com reports the average price of gas around Atlanta rose 8.3 cents a gallon last week and isn't expected to drop anytime soon.

"While I don't necessarily believe that the recent uptick in crude prices will stick, I also don't see prices falling considerably lower until after the conclusion of the summer driving season, when demand declines, and more expensive blends are phased out," GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan said in a statement.

Metro Atlanta drivers are now paying about $3.26 per gallon for regular unleaded gas.

That's still 33 cents lower than it was a year ago and significantly less than the current national average of $3.41.
