ATLANTA -- Delta Air Lines Inc. closed a previously reported deal with Southwest Airlines Co. to lease 88 Boeing 717s Southwest got when it bought AirTran.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
The aircraft will begin delivery next year, with 16 scheduled to enter Atlanta-based Delta's fleet in 2013. Thirty-six will be delivered in 2014 and in 2015, Delta said.
The Boeing 717s will primarily replace small 50-seat regional jets.
