According to reports, a tree fell on a house on the 1400 block of Copeland Avenue in Southwest Atlanta.
On the north side of town, a tree blocked traffic at an intersection near the Lake Forest community on Lake Forest Drive in Roswell.
At one point, power was out to 21,000 people around the state. Georgia Power said the number has now been whittled to 1,800. Of those, 1,200 are in metro Atlanta.
Georgia Power's John Kraft said people should treat any downed lines as live wires.
