Severe weather is expected across north Georgia, parts of the Carolinas and eastern Tennessee Tuesday afternoon and evening.
ATLANTA -- Metro Atlanta and most of north Georgia has been placed under a "slight risk" area for severe weather for Tuesday afternoon and evening, according to the Storm Prediction Center.
Showers and stronger thunderstorms have been moving across the northernmost counties of Georgia, but as of 3:30, no warnings have been issued for Georgia, with the severe weather remaining in Tennessee and South Carolina.
11Alive Chief Meteorologist Mike Francis says there is a possibility of strong to severe storms this evening, much as the ones that have popped up over parts of the state over the past few days.
Temperatures are expected to top out in the low 90s across north Georgia, down from the 100-plus-degree temperatures that plagued the area last week.
