ATLANTA -- Malfunctioning traffic signals and standing water left over from Wednesday night's storms created a mess for some morning commuters.

A blinking traffic signal on the southbound Downtown Connector exit to North Avenue had traffic backed up on both Interstates 75 and 85 and all the way to Georgia 400.

In Midtown, standing water pooled on a portion of the southbound Buford Spring Connector at Peachtree Street.

In DeKalb County, a number of traffic signals were malfunctioning along Memorial Drive. Also, traffic signals were flashing yellow at Turner Hill Road and Covington Highway.

In Cobb County, the traffic signal was mistimed at Stilesboro Road at Barrett Parkway. Also, wires were down on Robinson Road, south of Roswell Road.

In Douglas County, standing water blocked Sweetwater Industrial Boulevard at Lee Road.
