ATLANTA -- Atlanta police shot two home invasion suspects early Friday as they fled a home on Richland Road SW. One of them died later at Grady Hospital. The other's condition is not available.
Police were called to the home shortly after 1:30 a.m. by a woman hiding in a closet. A total of four masked and armed men broke into the house occupied by six women.
Capt. Adam Lee III said when police arrived, the men fled from the rear of the house. That's when officers confronted them and the two suspect were shot. Details of that confrontation are under investigation.
Despite an hours long search by police using tracking dogs, two men got away on foot.
No one in the house and no officers were injured.
