MCDONOUGH, Ga. -- Road work scheduled by the Georgia Department of Transportation will close the inside lane and shoulder on Interstate 75 north and south in Henry County this weekend.
Guardrail repairs between mile markers 216 and 226 are set for Sunday, July 15 through Monday, July 16, weather permitting.
Crews will work in half mile to 1 mile increments and relocate frequently.
According to GDOT, the inside lane and shoulder of I-75 northbound will be closed between mile markers 216 (near SR 155) and 221 (near Jonesboro Road), beginning at 8 p.m. Sunday until 3:30 a.m. Monday.
The inside lane and shoulder of I-75 southbound, between mile markers 228 (SR 138) and 226 (near the I-675 split), will be closed from 3:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday.
Drivers are urged to use extreme caution and reduce speeds through the work zone and take alternate routes when possible.
